Updated project list.

I spent the majority of a day revamping the project list. The changes are pretty major. For a basic idea, click here for a screencap of the list on [livejournal.com profile] chomalfoyfics in light form before its change, and here for a cap of the new list on DW in light form.

A more detailed description of the changes. )

I hope the changes I've made are more useful for readers who might peruse the community. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to make it even more useful.

Edit: I also made the project list sticky, so it's the first visible post on the community. This is another personal taste item, both in terms of what I like when I see other fic journals and in terms of finding the post to edit.

Memory alterations, and fifteen-word fanfic.

Since it's the middle of the night and I can't sleep, I opted to tackle one of the things that's been bothering me for a little while in this community: the memories. A little about the work. )

In other news, I did a fic meme here: it involved picking ten characters and writing fifteen-word fics for prompts. I worked on it on and off for eight hours, and I'm still not fully satisfied with the results, but it was a lot of fun to try.

Changes.

(I posted a similar version of this entry in [livejournal.com profile] chomalfoyfics here. The main differences here are Dreamwidth-specific, but most people should be able to get the idea without reading both posts.)

I'm implementing some changes in various places online that'll influence this community. Since this is one of the first mod posts of this kind I've done in [community profile] firmament, I'll note that I like to post whenever I make changes, whether it's a policy change, a layout change, or something else. These in particular are a major policy change and a change to my main Dreamwidth account.

1. Trigger warnings: It came to my attention that the warnings I use for content may not be extensive enough for readers who have triggers. As such, all new stories will have a trigger warning at the bottom of the post behind a cut and scrambled with rot13. I'm going to go through all my stories in the next few weeks and add the warnings as well, and those should be in place by July 2009, although I'll post if I don't manage it. (I have to reread all my stories in order to make sure I don't miss anything.) I've edited the welcome and disclaimers post to reflect the new addition.

Edit (4/12/10): I still intend to warn as best I can, but it's occurred to me that I have not been perfect with my system even after implementation. I can't guarantee that all stories are properly marked for major triggers. If there are any questions, I encourage readers to comment, send me a private message, or email me (gorgeousnerd at gmail dot com).

An example of this can be found in "The Links That Bind". Since this is also my most disturbing story online, and I'll understand if people want to avoid it, this is what the warning looks like: Ibzvgvat, rzbgvbany gbegher, rkgerzr culfvpny gbegher, frirerq svatref, rkprffvir oybbq, nyyhfvbaf gb puvyq zheqre naq gbegher (translate).

2. Main Dreamwidth: In an attempt to keep my fandom writing and my original writing more separate, I'm now posting all progress reports on my fanfiction to [personal profile] gorgeousnerd. I made some changes on [livejournal.com profile] cho_malfoy that reflect this, but this community's mostly free of that. I did change some of the links on the profile to link to this list of my projects. It's a little more extensive than the main list on [community profile] firmament, so it's fun to keep track of for anyone who likes behind-the-scenes notes.

~

Beyond that, all I have to say is that more stories are coming. At least one is being posted Monday or Tuesday, and I have a second story that is going to be a Dreamwidth-first post if I can get it done. More later!

Project list.

Stories are listed with the most written fandoms on top, followed by the rest in alphabetical order. Under each fandom, the stories are listed chronologically, with the most recent stories at the top.

(Note: You don't need to check with me if you'd like to make fanart, podfic, remixes, translations, or any other kind of secondary work. A link to whatever you do would be super appreciated, though! I highly recommend using AO3 in particular because of their linking options; I'm [archiveofourown.org profile] gorgeousnerd on there as well.)

Search tips.

I use the same search system on both [livejournal.com profile] chomalfoyfics and [community profile] firmament. The following are the links as they correspond on Dreamwidth and an explanation of the types of posts I will use in the community.

Welcome and disclaimers.

Welcome to [community profile] firmament, the Dreamwidth equivalent to [livejournal.com profile] chomalfoyfics! If you're familiar with the posts on the LJ community, there won't be anything too dissimilar here; I'm repeating or restating a lot of the same information. However, there will be some Dreamwidth-specific information that might be useful to read over (although most of it is pretty self-explanatory).

First off, I'm going to get the disclaimers out of the way. I haven't had any difficulties on my LJ community to date, and I don't expect that it'll be any different here, but I feel this is important to state regardless.
